Nevada Dental Board was created by the legislature and charged with the authority to issue licenses to successful candidates, renew licenses and maintain current information, and regulate the practice of dentistry and dental hygiene in the state.
The Mission of Nevada Dental Board is to protect the dental health interests of the citizens of Nevada by developing and maintaining programs to:
1. Insure that only qualified professionals are licensed to practice dentistry and
dental hygiene; and
2. Insure that violators of the laws are regulated.
Composition of Board: The Board is composed of seven licensed dentists, two licensed dental hygienists, and one public member. The members are appointed by the governor from statutory geographic districts to serve three-year staggered terms. Annually, the Board elects a president and secretary-treasurer. The president appoints members to Board Resource Groups that report to the Board at regularly scheduled meetings. Members of the Board’s Disciplinary Screening Panel are appointed by the full Board.
